About

I’m passionate about empowering you to be more aware of how your body functions, and providing you with the tools to give your unique system (we’re all different!) what it needs to thrive.

This passion infuses everything I do, from the menus crafted for my restaurants to how I care for my children (three very active boys) to how I balance my energy in Paris’s busy environment.

My health journey

Good food has always been an integral part of my life. Homemade cooking was the norm growing up. After my initial studies in naturopathy, I travelled through India and other parts of the world where food is used inherently as medicine, which added to my belief that optimal health is nutrition-based.

I began to experiment with recipes during my first pregnancy, two years after my arrival in Paris. It was as though the penny dropped as to the importance of nourishing this little life force I had growing inside of me.

Recipes & restaurants

I would spend time revisiting classic recipes and changing the ingredients to make them as nourishing as possible. Taking out refined sugars, refined flours and unhealthy fats and replacing these with all the good stuff. My food journey really took off during this period; cooking became my love language.

After much experimentation in the kitchen and beyond, the opening of our restaurant Loulou Paris (a French-Australian bistro in Saint Germain), and the birth of our second child, my desire to get back into studying natural medicine was sparked.

Books & bone broth

I had just finished my French diploma in naturopathy when I was asked to consult on recipe development for Myam, Paris’s first healthy food delivery service. My experience there led to the creation of my first book, Réequilibrage Alimentaire.

We opened Judy (named after my Mum!) in 2016, an eco-chic health-focused restaurant on the Left Bank with a focus on delicious nutritious fare. In French there’s a great saying, “never better served than by oneself” - for me this rang true as a young mum who used food to feed health and vibrancy.

At the time, there was nowhere to go where I loved the menu and had confidence in the choice of producers and food origins. Much of my career has indeed just been creating things that I craved but was unable to find!

Goodness to go

The overwhelmingly positive response from the neighbourhood led us to open Judy Market in 2018, a health food grocer offering to-go versions of our most nutritious items; a one-stop shop for bone broths, fermented vegetables, nut butters, cold pressed juices and all the things our customers were asking for more of. A second address opened in August 2023 in the Louvre quarter of Paris.

Yellow - our wellness centre above Judy - quickly followed, providing a home for my naturopathy practice and for a supportive circle of wellness practitioners ranging from a clinical psychologist, hypnotherapist to energetic Chinese medicine t & massage therapists.

What’s important to me today is to interact at the:

  • beginning of the chain, through the support of local farmers and the respect of the seasons, to show the power of good food on the human psyche and physique

  • as the middle-man with consultations and accompanying people to achieving vibrant sustainable health

  • and at the end of the chain in a mission to change the paradigm of health.

I’m blessed to work in a job I am absolutely passionate about. A beautiful mix of time spent with my clients, in functional and integrative naturopathy consultations, helping make a difference to their long-term health, and getting my hands dirty spending precious time in the kitchen with our talented team of chefs and kitchen hands.

The wellness eco-system that is Judy, Judy’s market and Yellow is exactly the kind of place I wanted to create!

Partnerships

I partner with brands, corporations and educational bodies to help them - and their audiences - step into a greater understanding of holistic living.

I’ve provided a number of talks, for Lancome (as part of their Happiness Therapy week) through to Ferrandi Paris, the leading culinary arts training school (creating modules for their masterclasses on ‘Food, at the forefront of change and the health of our planet’, in conjunction with EcoTable).

I’ve also contributed to business conferences on overcoming stress in the workplace, was a guest speaker for ‘Sport and Nutrition’, an Olympic Preparation at Carreau du Temple for Paris Food Temple, and was invited on the television show B Smart to talk about the steps Judy is taking to be a leader in eco restauration.

I’m also the official ’naturopath’ for the brand Chic Des Plantes!
